Visiting Student Program

International Visiting Students

Visiting Student Program is designed for outstanding current students of overseas/partner institutions who wish to broaden their horizons while earning credits at NTU, one of the world's leading institutions of higher education. While enrolled as a non-degree-seeking but full-time student, you are permitted to gain access to and take advantage of NTU's fullest range of academic programs.

Duration

One semester or one academic year.

Requirements

  1. Student Status:
    Undergraduate or graduate students who are studying in an overseas university, and have completed at least one semester at home university when applying.
  2. Citizenship:
    Hold a foreign nationality. Those who hold only Taiwanese nationality are not eligible to apply.
  3. Language proficiency:
    Have at least B1 level for English or Chinese Language Proficiency according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference).
  4. GPA Requirement:
    A minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

International Research Visiting Students

The Research Visiting Program is a non-degree program designed for students enrolled in overseas academic institutions who are interested in conducting short-term research or internship with an NTU faculty member. Please note that research-visiting students cannot enroll in courses.

Duration

The program duration is flexible, ranging from 2 weeks to 6 months (180 days). You can customize your program duration and choose a time of the year to start. Please note that due to Visa regulations, the duration may not exceed 180 days. Should you need to stay longer than the maximum period permitted, you must exit Taiwan to acquire a new Visa, and then re-enter the country. An additional program fee will be applied for the additional duration.

Qualifications

Undergraduate: International students enrolled in overseas academic institutions who are required to conduct an internship in order to satisfy graduation requirements.

Graduates: International students enrolled in overseas academic institutions who are required to conduct an internship in order to satisfy graduation requirements, or interested in conducting research/ writing a thesis in Taiwan.

※Please note that overseas academic Institutions should be included in the reference list issued by the Ministry of Education, R.O.C. For PRC passport holders who studying in universities in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, please refer to 訪問研究計畫.

Finding a Host Professor

Before starting your application, you must acquire an NTU Law faculty member who is willing to act as your supervisor. Please browse through our faculty, check the members’ research interests and experiences, and finally, contact a few potential supervisors directly to discuss your research interests.
