Developments in Constitutional Monarchies in Western Europe, Especially in the Kingdom of the Netherlands & the United Kingdom

 

 

The Tsai Wan-Tsai Law Chair Lecture is named after Mr. Tsai Wan-Tsai, a notable alumnus of NTU College of Law and a leading entrepreneur in Taiwan, who deeply valued education and academic research. In honor of his legacy, his son established the Law Chair in 2016, which aims to promote academic excellence and inspire future generations of legal scholars.

The guest speaker, Professor Paul Bovend’Eert from Radboud University of Nijmegen in The Netherlands, who was sharing his insights on developments in constitutional monarchies in Western Europe.

Professor Bovend’Eert received his doctorate in law from Radboud University of Nijmegen before joining its faculty in 1988. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Law from 2010 to 2014. He has made a significant contribution to the field of European constitutional law and is recognized as a leading scholar, particularly on the king and the three branches of government. His research also extends to American constitutional law from a comparative law perspective.

This lecture is a unique opportunity for our academic community to hear from a distinguished expert in the field of constitutional law, which will deepen our understanding of constitutional democracies. Following the lecture, Professor Su Hui-Chieh, one of our esteemed faculty members in constitutional law, moderated a discussion.
