Dr. Shih-Tung Chuang has been joining the faculty since August 2011. Previously he taught at Fu Jen Catholic University. Dr. Chuang holds a LL.B degree from Soochow University (1989) and was awarded his Ph.D degree from the University of Cambridge in 1997. Dr. Chuang’s main research interests are in the fields of Anglo-American analytical jurisprudence and the western legal and political thoughts. He has published articles on the important issues of analytical jurisprudence, the theoretical debate of the rule of law, the reform of legal education, and the humanistic study of law. Currently, Dr. Chuang concentrates his research on the topic of legal normativity. In this academic year he lectures the undergraduate course ‘An Introduction to Legal Science’, and also teaches two seminar courses ‘The Selected Readings of Anglo-American Jurisprudence’ and ‘Seminar on the Basic Issues of Anglo-American Jurisprudence’ at the graduate level.
