Upon completion of his Bachelor degree of Laws in 1984 and Master degree of Laws in 1989 from NTU, Professor Jau-Yuan Hwang embarked on a career of private practice as associate attorney at Formosa Transnational Attorneys-at-Law before advancing his scholarship at Harvard. In 1991 he earned his LL.M. and, in 1995, his S.J.D. from Harvard Law School. He joined the College of Law at NTU in August 1995 and focuses his research interests on constitutional law and international law. Professor Hwang teaches Constitutional Law, US Constitutional Law, Comparative Constitutionalism, International Law, and Legal Status of Taiwan.
