International trade and international health affairs are the two pillars of our research. Because of the ACWH’s realization of the significance of interdisciplinary studies, it endeavors to maintain a pool of experts consisting of specialists versed in subjects other than law. The innovative approach enables the ACWH to be the home to an array of professors from the leading law schools, both in Chinese Taipei and elsewhere in Asia; they are all in the cutting edge of their respective scholarship and practice. Apart from WTO law and international health law, numerous other law subjects are covered by the ACWH, including international trade law, fisheries law, aerospace law, public international law, technology law, intellectual property law, environmental law and corporate law. In addition, the ACWH also connects law with other disciplines, in particular the study of public health. With such a wide spectrum of specialties, the ACWH is in a position to manage challenging new issues facing the WTO from different perspectives, and, as a government think tank, assists Chinese Taipei’s government on WTO-related issues in various manners to reach the most beneficial solution.
In addition, the ACWH has built partnerships with various governmental agencies, including the BOFT, the Department of Health, the Industrial Development and Investment Center, the Fair Trade Commission, the Environmental Protection Administration, the Council for Cultural Affairs, and the Ministry of Education. Through the ACWH, different faculties and governmental agencies are connected in partnership, and the ACWH is the key to the effective functioning of this collaboration.
